Safety Instrumented System Evaluation

1. SIL evaluation and SRS compilation

Since the implementation of SIL evaluation in 2009, the company has responded positively to Guidance of State Administration of Safety Supervision on Strengthening Management of Chemical Safety Instrument System ( Safety Supervisor III [ 2014 ] 116 ).According to the requirements of GB / T20438 and GB / T21109, on the basis of HAZOP analysis, the company identifies the dangerous scenes, uses LOPA analysis technology to grade the SIL of the safety instrumented functions (SIF) circuit, and uses professional software to verify the SIL of the SIF circuit and analyze the performance index of false parking shut down. In view of the problems of insufficient safety integrity level and high false shutting down rate, the company optimizes the loop structure, hardware model, test cycle and other aspects to comprehensively measure the safety requirements and input costs of the device, providing the optimal solutions to the problems of safety instrument system for enterprises.

After determining the safety integrity level ( SIL ) target of safety instrument function ( SIF ), the safety requirement specification ( SRS ) of SIF is compiled. SRS includes the requirements of safety function and safety integrity, which stipulates the requirements of hardware and software of safety instrumented system. By compiling the correct SRS, the safety instrumented system is ensured to be implemented in accordance with the relevant requirements of the safety life cycle to avoid the occurrence of systematic failure.

2. SLC management consultation

SLC management focuses on the management activities to achieve the functional security of the safety-related system throughout the safety life cycle from the demand analysis stage to the completion of its mission by the safety-related system. According to the requirements of GB / T20438 and GB / T21109 on the overall safety life cycle of safety instrumented system, the company provides technical advisory services for the overall implementation and management of enterprises’ safety instrumented system, covering the main stages of analysis, implementation and operation through a series of detailed and systematic control measures, such as risk analysis, SIF identification, SIL grading, design, installation requirements, debugging methods, operation requirements, maintenance requirements, change management procedures and etc., providing technical support for the improvement of enterprises’ functional safety management.

3. Alarm management of petrochemical equipments

At present, the parameter alarm of petrochemical equipments is excessively expanded, resulting in the loss of early warning and timely intervention. The company has developed a set of risk-based alarm management methods, systematically evaluated and demonstrated the alarm design of each set of devices, reasonably determined the alarm limit, and made the enterprises alarm systems more reasonable.
